- New Years Eve is always celebrated in style with fireworks along the beach at Praia da Rocha and the water front in Portimão at midnight, with live music and entertainment throughout the evening.
- Portimão Sardine Festival takes place in August (around the 2nd week) and is a hugely popular affair with live music every night and fireworks, apart from the sardines!
